Spinal Flow is a gentle technique that helps the brain reconnect with the body and its experiences, and works to integrate stress that has caused spinal blockages, resulting in pain and dis-ease.
It helps to reawaken your body's ability to heal itself.
As layers of stress are gradually removed, energy begins to flow more freely, from the base of the spine all the way to your head.
The Spinal Wave refers to this movement of energy through the nervous system along the spine.
The communication channels along the spine and to the rest of the body are opened and restored. The vertebrae become more flexible and the body can move more easily.
When flow has been restored, optimal wellbeing can be achieved.
Pain, Dis-ease and Illness are signs of Spinal blockages. It is a signal from your body that something is out of balance.
Stress in one form or another, is generally what causes these blockages.
These are 3 types of stress that we work with:
Physical - physical injury, accidents, poor posture, excessive sitting, repetitive movements, sleep postures, child birth.
Chemical -the food we eat, the air we breathe and the water we drink, environmental toxins in products we use, medications, drugs & alcohol.
Emotional - trauma, grief, loss, negative thought patterns & beliefs, relationships, holding onto painful memories.
Every spinal block has a cause and will affect different areas of the body.
The Central Nervous System consists of the brain and the spinal cord.
Every function of the body is controlled by the nerves that branch off the spine. Every organ, gland, muscle, cell and body system is governed by the messages it receives through the nervous system.
If the nervous system becomes overloaded, there is a disruption to the communication of messages to the body. This is when illness and pain are experienced.
There is a layer of neural tissue that surrounds the brain and the spinal column. This thick membrane is responsible for maintaining the spinal fluid and transmitting the energy and messages along the spine.
The sacrum and cranium are two areas where this tissue is close to the skin.
It is here, that the 33 access points used in spinal flow are located.
Stress affects the central nervous system and places the body in what is known as the flight/fight response. This is a natural response of the body for protection at the time of a real or perceived threat/trauma.
Sustained stress, however keeps us out of our natural state of rest and digest. Being stuck in the flight/fight response can effect our posture, digestive system and our overall health in general.
Like a mouse on a wheel, there seems no way of getting back to a natural and healthy state. As frustration or anger creeps in or we do not recognise what is occurring, we create further stress and the body becomes progressively more and more unwell.
Spinal Flow may help you get off that journey by reawakening the communication along your spine from tail to head and back again. The natural ability for your body to heal itself can be restored and the blocked energy can move again.
The Spinal Flow delivers life force to, and communicates with, every cell of your body through the seven gateways of the spine.
This is your body in its natural flow state and doing what is does best.
In the Spinal Flow technique, we refer to the Seven Gateways which represent seven distinct areas along the spine.
Each Gateway includes the nerves that branch out from the spine and govern specific regions of the body and their associated organs and bodily functions.
When there are Spinal energy blocks in any of these areas, the related body parts and the way they function will be affected and will present as physical and/or emotional symptoms.
When the energy is able to flow easily along the spine, the nerves are then able to supply the organs and cells with the messages and nutrients required to remain healthy.
As an example, the Foundation Gateway represents the sacrum area of the spine.
If you have lower back pain, sciatica, hip issues, groin problems and knee pain then you most likely have a blockage in this area of the spine. You may also find you have trouble making decisions and moving forward with your plans. You may also feel unsupported.
Gentle touch - with no manipulation or spine crunching - on any of the 33 access points encourages the brain to reconnect with the body and its experiences through the seven gateways of the spine.
These points are located on the sacrum and cranium and enable healing to happen by sending a message along the spinal cord. The message creates more breath and openness in the body. More ease is then felt and allows a softness to be created in the body.
Expanding the areas of ease allows the layers of stress to be removed as the Spinal Wave increases.
Spinal Flow sessions help move you naturally into a state of rest and digest. The body can then do what it is designed to do - repair itself.
You will likely come away from the session feeling refreshed and at ease. The issues you came with will no longer be the same.
(Note: you will remain fully clothed for these sessions)
Please wear light comfortable clothing - no jeans or heavy waisted pants/shorts/skirts.
